Need to plan :

• Go early
• An examiner will call our name, we will pick out a piece of paper
• One shot
• 2 questions on the paper
• Either 2 history of 2 geography

Overview :

• Allowed to read notes but look at the examiner
• Much like the APs, go straight to the point
• Spend time on what you know, don’t spend time on what you don’t know
  • But don’t do an hors sujet non plus

Plan

• Examiner arrives : Pick question directly
  • Tell the examiner the question picked
• Going ot prep room : 20 minutes
• Exam room : Answer question : Thesis statement, with arguments
  • Speech between 6 & 7 minutes
    • Cut off directly (7 max)
    • Less than 6 isn’t great
  • 3 minutes continuing on history/geography (same as the question)

7 minutes : Presentation
3 minutes : Answer question
— Switch subject (From geo to history or vice versa) —

Presentation

Intro

• Thesis statement : CLEAR answer, direct & straight forward
• Context
• Plan : Can be annonced or not
• Around one minute

Development

• 3 Strong arguments
  • Strongest ones
  • Can be 2 if the third isn’t good enough
  • Can be 4
  • About 1.5 minutes each

Every argument :

• Intro
• Development
• LINK TO THESIS

Conclusion

• About 30 seconds / one minute

Draft paper

• Outline of the arguments
• Write out introduction
• On top : Write question
